“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
This quote is one that Donna Bagwell holds very near to her heart. This quote has been a guiding vision for many years. She is passionate about Great Expectations and the opportunity to help expand that vision to as many educators and learners as possible.
Donna is a native of Oklahoma. She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Cameron University and her Masters of Educational Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. After 12 years in the elementary classroom and 12 years as an elementary principal in Oklahoma, Donna relocated to Texas in 2008. She had the privilege of being an elementary principal for 4 years in the North Texas area.
Several of the highlights of her career in public education include implementation of the Great Expectations teaching/training model at 4 campuses in Oklahoma and Texas, as well as being principal of a GE Model School. She was also Oklahoma Association of Supervision and Curriculum Principal of the Year and Oklahoma Association of Health and Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Principal of the Year. Although these were great honors, none can compare to the years spent working with students and their families as an educator in the classroom and as campus administrator.
Donna and her husband Ronnie are parents to four children and have been blessed with five grandchildren. She enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling and college football!
