Donna Richey began her education career in 1996. She holds a Masters Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction from OCU and is a National Board Certified Teacher with 3 years serving as an OEQA Regional Coordinator. Donna has been a GE Instructor for 13 years. When not educating various ages, she enjoys spending a healthy, active lifestyle with her husband Scott and three daughters, running, diving, hiking, swimming or reading together!

Presenter: Jana Oder, GE Instructor
Jana Oder is beginning her 21st year in education with 19 of those years being an instructor for Great Expectations. She spent the first 14 years in public education teaching K-1st grade and then became the director of Grand Central Kids Preschool where she is currently in the 7th year of her DREAM JOB! She and her husband spend their spare time running their 3 children to their various events, assisting in the Collinsville School District, and being actively involved in their church.

Dr. Amanda Wilson has always loved education and knew she wanted to be a teacher from a very early age. With expertise in early childhood and literacy, Dr. Wilson has taught students spanning from the first grade to the undergraduate classroom and fellow educators. Currently, Dr. Wilson teaches for Oral Roberts University as the Assistant Professor of Elementary and Early Childhood Education.

Diana Saylak began her career in elementary education in 2004 and has served as an educator, team leader, math instructional coach, professional learning facilitator, and curriculum writer. She currently works in Coppell ISD as the district Elementary Math Instructional Coach and attends Dallas Baptist University where she will complete her doctoral degree in May. She looks forward to completing her dissertation so that she can spend more time in her backyard and playing with her niece, Laynie.

Alyssa has been awarded the OETT K20 SKIE Award for technology excellence in the classroom. She is a football coach's wife and has 2 sons.

Roy Bartnick has taught for eleven years. He has an MBA, and an Ed.S. in Educational Administrative Leadership, and is currently finishing his PhD in Educational Administration. He was the Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year Rising Star, the Teacher Under the Sea, and a Teacher for Global Classrooms in Senegal Africa. He and his wife greatly enjoy scuba diving and traveling the world together.

Chelsea Blackburn has taught in Edmond Public Schools for 10 years. Her classroom experience includes working with students in 3rd and 4th grade, and she currently is a 6th grade math teacher. She holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, and was a district finalist for Teacher of the Year in 2015. A quote that speaks to Chelsea's teaching philosophy is "They may not remember what you teach them, but they will never forget the way you made them feel." Chelsea lives with her husband and four legged children in Edmond.

Jenniffer Callaway, a career educator, has worked with Great Expectations for 15 years. Jenniffer is a Nationally Board Certified teacher whose career spans teaching students ages 4 - 75 in grades preK - higher education. Jenniffer’s contributions to the field of education include creating award winning curriculum, designing lessons promoting Action Based Learning and helping students who had previously struggled in school succeed academically and complete their goal to graduate high school and attend college.

Betty Sheofee’s 30 years of teaching earned her much recognition and many awards. She holds a Master’s of Education Degree as well as many specialized certifications. Serving as a Great Expectations Instructional Coach for many years, she is now in the role of GE Consultant. She has created a curriculum to guide schools to include support personnel in developing a GE “Culture of Respect.” Betty and her husband, Bill, live in Broken Arrow, OK. She and Bill enjoy attending the many activities of their three grandchildren.

Scott, his wife, and son live and work in Edmond. He has spent the past six years as an elementary music teacher and recently moved into school administration. He believes that he was designed to be an educator and to ignite a passion for lifelong learning in each student by creating a positive, brain friendly, student focused environment. With a year filled of new experiences he is often reminded of a quote from Rear Admiral Grace Hopper who said, “A ship in port is safe, but that’s not what it’s built for.”

Three GE Master Classes will be presented during the 2017 – 2018 school year. You will be provided with the URL to view each Master Class. It takes approximately one hour to view the videos, text, and interface with the self-assessments and the discussion board. Participants are then provided with the opportunity to post comments, pictures and videos to share with colleagues. This learning community will continue to provide you with a wide array of innovative and thought provoking ideas. The first Master Class is entitled “The Power of Student Engagement.”
