Making Good Teaching Great – Everyday Strategies for Teaching with Impact
What better way to start off the school year than with a resource that gives you daily strategies to implement in your classroom! Keeping with the same style of their other books, authors Todd Whitaker, What Great Teachers Do Differently, and Annette Breaux, 101 “Answers” for New Teachers and Their Mentors Use offer up a book infused with humor and written for educators in an easy to read manner. The format is written to read one page daily for 180 days. Each “Day” is broken down into 3 sections – Think About It, Do it, Done! Every 20 days there is a reflective piece/survey for the reader to work through and answer simple yes/no questions.
This practical, easy to read and understand book was written “not to give you the definitive answers to making you the perfect teacher, but to improve your teaching and your students’ learning.” Daily topics range from making a first impression, classroom management, making mistakes, display of student work, the power of a smile and so much more. It doesn’t matter what “Day” you begin with, there is something for everyone.
Regardless if you are a beginning educator, nontraditional educator or any educator that just needs a jumpstart to a great year, this book is well worth the time.
